We will cover growing your own herbs and turning them into quality products, how to get certified organic, record keeping, issues with GMP/FDA, trademarking, labeling, marketing, and how to get started. Will include resources of organizations that help small businesses as well as farming and bulk herb resources.

Class: The Art of Making Teas, Infusions, and Decoctions

Maine Fare  - Saturday, June 21st from 10:30am-noon in the DIY Tent
Tickets ($15) available at the Maine Fare website.

In this workshop we will explore various water based methods of working with plants, addressing the difference between a tea, infusion and decoction. We will discuss how to make and when to use these various methods while offering a variety of sample blends to taste. Everyone will have a chance to create their own unique herbal blend to bring home and enjoy. Please bring a pint jar to this class.

Look for the Herbal Revolution tent at the annual Maine Fare in Belfast, Maine from June 20-21, 2014. Maine Fare is a two-day festival full of good food and food for thought. Herbal Revolution will be selling and sampling our products in the Maine Fare Open Air Market both days. This is an incredible annual event held by Maine Farmland Trust and Penobscot East Resource Center is free to the public, with a few paid/ticketed events. Herbal Revolution will be returning to the wonderful, Herbstalk, again this year on June 7-8, 2014 in Somerville, MA at The Armory.

Herbstalk is an educational community gathering offering herbal classes, plant walks and a marketplace. The intent is to share herbal knowledge and empowering information with a large audience during the event, and to build community around herbalism and health.
